I prefer the ordered version becau...Love the geese. I prefer the ordered version because that's what geese do. Plus there's enough chaos happening with the joyful fabric combos. You don't need to mix it up any more - but the random direction layout does work too. (Every time I see a quilt made with lots of random scrap combinations, I think to myself "that's what I need to use up my scraps!" but of course it doesn't use them up at all LOL.)
