Where there's lots started... and even a few finishes!

this week...

This week I've got two finishes to share, one quilt & one quilt top.
I made a pieced backing & stitched up some scrappy blue binding for my HST quilt...

I did some straight line quilting along the diagonals, simple & functional
then spent an evening stitching down the binding, and voila -
#2 ticked off my  FAL listthe finish-a-long hosted by Adrianne at On the Windy Side
and this quilt has gone off to a new home already!

... and I've also just finished putting together my 'rediscovered'  'Greenfields' quilt top
It took sometime I must admit as I didn't have the book anymore,
just my very rough drawing of how it was to all go together.

But I got there in the end.
very vintage - all ready now for basting, quilting & binding.

and in the garden... friendly Mr Tui getting nectar from the last of the camellias
Can you spot him?

  1. You are racing through all your FAL and WIP this year. I am procrastinating about attaching the binding to my placemats (last item for Q3 FAL) - maybe I should do that instead of reading everyone's blogs.

  2. I love all that green in the latest top!

    1. Ah, you must be a ‘green’ fan! This quilt was certainly all about ‘the green’ and using the scraps, and some of those scraps were pretty old! See you Monday night at MM, Linda

  4. Wonderful quilts but my favorite is the HSTs! I love the pinks, blues, and little touches of gold here and there.

  6. HST's are great for using lovely fabric scraps and this one with the scrappy binding is a beauty.

  7. I love your HSTs, a great finish. The Greenfields quilt is also such a lovely scrappy piece. I'm visiting as a member of the official 2015 official cheerleading squad.
