Some WiP's proceed at a cracking pace
others linger longer, so it's really nice to celebrate a 'finish' , yes?

Quilt Stats:
I used Sujata's free form rail fence design from her Cultural Fusion Quilts book
Annette de Raat machine quilted it in an overall stippling pattern for me
and I finished it off using Amy Butler's Hammock Stripes for the binding

Great shots Linda - I think you have to call it 'retro cool', because that wallpaper and the quilt are all the rage now for young hipsters.
ReplyDeleteVery fun wallpaper! What a great rail fence quilt. I am just so continually impressed with how you manage to put color and fabric prints together. It's a great vintage/retro look that is all you.:)
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have had a better setting to showcase your quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is wonderful. You really got the cozy retro feel. The photos belong in a magazine!
ReplyDeleteThat's the first time I've seen Rail Fence with color changes in each block; a most interesting effect!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt. Love the colours. Your photos are very good, really show off the quilt well.
ReplyDeleteThank you! All this blogging has really improved my computer & my photography skills! Linda
DeleteAnother finish - how many is that this year!!! Looks great is this a keeper?
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie! Ah, sadly over the years a few of my WiP's have ended up in the depths of 'the wardrobe' and then one tends to loose motivation, so I've made a real effort lately to finish-as-I-go, just a real pity they weren't on my FAL Q3 list! Linda
DeleteYay for finishing those longer WIPs! Great rail fence, Linda. Thanks for linking up to TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteI always love finishing a project! Especially after a good wash and dry! Love your retro rail fence, beautiful colors! That wall paper is crazy! Does anyone else see 'quilt' when looking at it?!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hadn’t really thought ‘quilt’ ... I guess we’re all just so use to seeing THAT wallpaper, that we don’t really look at it now! It’s been there for years, used to be her ex’s drum room! Linda
DeleteWow - that's a brilliant quilt. Love the photo of it hanging over the staircase bannister - it looks so good with that lovely warm wood. Stunning colours.
ReplyDeleteI also love the photo of the quilt on the banister!.... And those of us from the 70's- gotta love the wallpaper!!!
