floral fun

Working on some more of my whimsy blocks today
 Loving this pattern by @judynewman,
and am having lots of fun machine piecing these little floral beauties

There is a cheeky little inset seam,
but I'm finding that if I make up a few blocks at a time things seem to go smoothly.
I'm teaming up a scrappy selection of large scale florals from my stash
with a sweet crosscheck and a bright red & white stripe.

And three new blocks to add to the group . . .

Linking up with Myra for 'finished or not Friday' here
and with Cynthia here for 'oh scrap'

  1. wow, that is looking really effective, that pale centre block and the stripes really make you look at each block. I've been at work all day, so no sewing from me, it's wine and blog time mow.

  6. I love these blocks--Cheeky little insert is right, enough to deter/discourage me. They are so pretty and the fabrics are perfect or the block.

  10. On your way to another awesome quilt. That block looks like it is a bit of a challenge. But the finished block is sure worth it!

    1. Thanks Cynthia. It is a pretty block, with that 2dary circular pattern happening.
But making 3-in-a-row was enough just now. I’ve chosen fabrics and cut them out for the next three blocks. Already & waiting for sewing up sometime later in the week.

  11. I have to admit that I avoid inset seams like they are the devil - so good on you for not only having a go - but ending up with some very nice blocks. Bonus! And those striped corners, Very Clever!
