"Daisy Jones and the Six" by Taylor Jenkins Reid is such a good read. I fell in love with Daisy and couldn't put it down until I got to the end.
It's a novel that transports you back to the music scene of the Fleetwood Mac era, about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous break up.
And it's a love story, where everyone remembers the truth differently!
"The Survivors" is Jane Harper's latest book. It's a stand alone mystery, in which a small Australian town's secrets begin to totally unravel.
"Kieran Elliott’s life changed forever on a single day when a reckless mistake led to devastating consequences. The guilt that still haunts him resurfaces during a visit with his young family to the small coastal community he once called home.
Kieran’s parents are struggling in a town where fortunes are forged by the sea. Between them all is his absent brother, Finn.
When a body is discovered on the beach, long-held secrets threaten to emerge. A sunken wreck, a missing girl, and questions that have never washed away..."
Sally Hepworth hits it out of the park as usual with this engrossing and brilliant psychological thriller, 'the Good Sister'.
Rose and Fern are unidentical twins and their dynamic is interesting, complicated and not necessarily the way it appears to others. Like layers of an onion we learn more and more and then it all smashes together in the most Hepworthiest way.
As the story progresses though, I became quite concerned as to how things would pan out. I wanted a happy ending for Fern, but knowing that life doesn’t always give us what we want, I was compelled to keep the pages turning!
And, nothing to do with books, but check out this little chocolate prezzie we received. It was beautifully wrapped, and the chocolate has a very quilty texture! Made with only 2 ingredients- cacao beans & organic cane sugar, from the Foundry Chocolate Co. here in NZ. Love to hear about what you have been reading lately?

Really enjoyed The Dry by Jane Harper. All Our Shimmering Skies by Trent Dalton was beautifully written. The Nancys by RWR McDonald was clever and funny. Need to start reading for school now!
ReplyDeleteDaisy is totally on my to-read list! Sounds really good; and so is the Jane Harper.
ReplyDeleteI’m enjoying The Survivors- I love all Jane Harper novels. She lives in Melbourne and I met her at a book talk by Sally Hepworth! I don’t think I’ve read The Good Sister! I’ll need to look for it at the library.
ReplyDeleteI am reading "The Department of Sensitive Crimes" by Alexander McCall Smith...enjoying it--very different...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteWell my reading of late has unfortunately been NIL!! Most unlike me as I love to "have my head in a book", your three look very interesting, wonder what you're going with next.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Sally Hepworth books before, I know Susan likes them though. I've just finished The Survivors, definitely didn't see that ending. Another enjoyable recent read was The Godmothers by Monica McInernay. Happy summer reading and all the best for 2021.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to find more books. Thanks. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteLooks like plenty of good reading. Perfect time of year for that.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to see The Dry next week. Should be good.
Thanks for your book recommendations! Though I couldn't find those titles in audiobook format from my library, I DID find other audiobook titles by these authors. I checked out two of them! That chocolate looks delicious. I can't imagine only a two-ingredient candy, but then, I like a three ingredient peanut butter cookie. They're definitely do-able.
