what's in a name

 





- OMG folded like this, it looks so similar to the original 'predictable' pattern I started out with 😂




And, just before I go, I'm not too sure exactly what to call this quilt. Is it an improv quilt - an art quilt - an asymmetrical 'pink pathways' quilt - an easy HSTs in a diamond setting quilt. Who knows, but {wink wink} I'm calling it "done for now".

Loved having a go at being more creative with my stash,
even if the result wasn't quite what I expected!

    Congratulations on the quilt top completion - I like it a LOT! I'm not sure each of our quilts has to fit neatly into any one category - most of us work with a blending of multiple approaches. As far as naming the top, check out the names for nail polishes and/or lipsticks in shades of pink. The creatives who name them come up with some good ones.

    I think quilts are like people- they should not be put into categories! We, and quilts, are all individuals with our own unique qualities! Your quilt is vibrant, striking and pretty! Congratulations on a great finish!

    Just looked back at other comments. Quiltdivajulie suggests you check out names of nail varnishes and lipsticks.
    The nail varnish I’m currently wearing is called Tartan Punk!

    Happy for you to be done with this! I think I'd call it traditional (the layout) and scrappy (the piecing), but whatever you call it, it's really pretty!

    The off-center spiral effect works very well. Good color choices. Having all the borders different fabrics adds something, too... and uses up some leftovers. Thanks so much for sharing.
