Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment on my layout decision for this 'corn & beans' quilt project. I went with the 2nd option and added borders to make it rectangular. It's a riot of colour, all from my stash. A real chance to showcase lots of vibrant fabrics, with another opportunity to do the same in the borders.
I think I like colour. A. Lot

This is a fun block to play with. I bet it won't be the last quilt you make with it.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, our quilt group had a challenge called "Corn beans and squash". I can'ty remember why that was the theme. I did a topper topper using the corn and beans block in autumn colors including Indian corn and squash and I think I even found a fat quarter of green bean fabric. Looks totally different them yours, which is beautiful.

Fun and perfect finish for this quilt top. Saying that you like color has to be the understatement of the year! Your love of bright and bold colors is what makes your quilts uniquely yours. And that is a very good thing 😊
ReplyDeleteGood choice to use borders to finish your top. I love the secondary patterns.
ReplyDeleteOh that butterfly border is a treat! Looks like you had a productive weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! And those butterflies in the border is the frosting on the cake/quilt!!!
