where do all your quilts go?

Ah yes, it's a question I'm often asked...
Where do all your quilts go?

Mine move around quite. a. lot… some are in a glory box… others are in a cupboard… some are being used on spare beds … and lots & lots of other quilts have been gifted to family & friends or donated over the years.
And, I do have a few quilt 'stacks' here, love seeing them all together. These really "old" quilts are on a shelving unit in my sewing room, along with treasured old teddies & doll.

What a lovely stack of quilts;). Your sewing room must be as charming as can be. My quilts are all over the place too. The best feeling is when I know a quilt is being actively used and loved to pieces.

I have way too many quilts in this house stacked up here and there and one day need to start giving more of them away to family. I have sold some also and given some away - but even so I most likely have close to 40 quilts in the house

Thank you for showing us one of your quilt stacks. You are one of my favorite quilters that I follow, and I'm always happy to see more of your work.

Lovely stack of quilts--they look so cozy there all together...
I have some in my linen closet, some on beds, some on backs of chairs for daily use and some hanging for display around my home...hugs, Julierose

I love your display of quilts on the shelf with other treasured items close by! There are stacks of quilts in my house, too, plus many given away to family, friends, and other places. Love them all!

I always like to have a pile of quilts reserved for gifting so that when the need arises I don't have to panic and hurry to get one finished. I have a glass door fronted cupboard that holds my favorites and many on beds and some hanging on walls (helps to muffle sound since I don't have drapes) plus 2 racks of them in the guest bedroom.

A lot of mine in the past few years have been gifts for grandchildren/children, not too many left in my stack! However, I counted up my quilt tops waiting to be quilted yesterday - total of 24 - although a few are wall hanging size. Your shelving with your precious quilts and teddies is a happy looking display.

I have a good supply for gifts. I make a lot for charity and I use a lot too.

Such a lovely display of some of your quilts! I use a number of quilts to move through the house. I’ve been making lots of quilts for charity. I have piles of quilts in every cupboard in the house. I don’t have family or friends who like to receive a quilt, they don’t quite understand my hobby ;-) ‘Why are you still making quilts?’ Nobody ever asks a philatelist why he still collects stamps.... I love making appliqué quilts and I don’t give those quilts away very easily, only if someone would really love a specific quilt. I enjy making them and that’s what counts!

Funny that. I've been considering how to better display my quilts. Like you, most have been gifted but there's still a large number from a lifetime of quilting.

I always love to see quilts stacked together. They provide so much colour and are very tempting to touch on the way past.
