a story of scrappy little quilts

The idea of 'quilt the book' has always appealed, well, perhaps not every quilt ha-ha! I'm thinking a series of scrappy, smallish, lap size quilts. this year. maybe.

The inspiration for all this, of course, came from Jolene @blueelephantstitches. I have both her quilting books now and have been a long-time follower of her blog & insta. Like many, I love her delightful vintage looking quilts and how she mixes her fabric.

I'm always on the lookout for ways to use my scrappy stash. As everyone’s stash is so different, and even while using someone's pattern/concept/photo, I figure it's so easy to change up & personalise the look of your quilt! My focus will be to try and capture some of Jolene's vintage ‘vibe’ and yet still be reflective of my stash here.

2025
Fast forward to now, and I'm off to a super scrappy start
working my way through her latest book in an attempt to use up my scraps.

For those interested, I have also made a few other larger quilts inspired by Jolene - In 2024 I made a 'Jacob's Ladder' quilt, 'star hollow' quilt and 'Stars Upon Stars' quilt.
