Welcome to this eclectic assortment of finished quilts for 2025.
One question people are always most interested in is "how long did that take?"
Obviously, the time I spend sewing isn't about counting the hours, it's about colour, creativity & processes.
However, I've included time frames this year to give you a rough idea of start to finish for each quilt.

simply head to the search bar at the top L) hand side of my blog, key in quilt name, hit search, et voila.
And for binding, I chose a blue & white stripe - cottage rose by Alex Anderson - it’s a very clever way to pull out those blues, otherwise they sorta get lost.
Quilt measures 45" x 54".
16-patch & Sawtooth Star combo quilt
started March 2025 & finished Sept 2025
Quilt measures 40" x 48".
Farm & Folk Sampler quilt
started in June 2025, finished September 2025
The #folksamplersewalong was hosted by sara buscaglia from farm and folk. Although we’ve all been making the same blocks most weeks, each one is so unique.
I hope my sampler quilt - with its different weights of fabric and soft limited palette with a few solids in the mix - captures that intersection of traditional quilting with a modern twist quite nicely.
I used Ruby Star Society 'maze in goldenrod' for my sashing and I decided to use a soft peachy log cabin ufo quilt for my backing, #partyinthequiltback.
I opted for E2E panto 'compass rose' quilting by Leeanne @ quiltmekiwi.
My binding is a gold Alison Glass fabric, it works in nicely with my sashing.
Quilt measures 53" x 67".
*Update: gifted to Nona, our grandchildren's other granny, who is in need of a quilty hug just now.
Boardwalk quilt
started June 2025 finished Sept 2025
My backing is Bluebird in ivory by Heather Ross.
And the quilting? I sent it out to Leeanne quiltmekiwi for an E2E quilting panto called coneflower.
For the binding, I went with an early print by Denyse Schmitd, a two-colour plaid and I think the black lines on the plaid link up nicely with that B&W spot sashing. Oh, and it works well with the bluebird backing too!
My quilt measures 62" x 62".
Marjorie quilt
Started Sept 2024, finished March 2025
Gifted to my sister for her 70th birthday
For my backing I used two vintage sheets from a local Hospice shop, which I cut into strips and inserted three leftover blocks.
And I had it quilted in an e2e 'peeling good' panto by Leeanne @quiltmekiwi.
I chose an early Henry Glass stripe in two-tone purple for the binding.
Checkered Garden quilt no.2
Started July 2024 & finished Feb 2025
This is my 2nd version of the 'checkered garden' quilt, using the free pattern from Ashley @filminthefridge.
Fabrics: I used a colourful whimsical mix of fabrics, loosely channeling my inner vintage granny chic with a touch of modern. All from scraps & stash, add a little contrast from the darker teals & bright pink, et voilĂ !
Backing: I pulled out a small log cabin quilt top (see back here) in pink, brown & green leftovers, and then just started building around the log cabin center with my chunky strips to bring it up to size. Hm-m-m - this quilt has a real two-sided appeal thingy happening!
Quilting: Leeanne @quiltmekiwi added some quilting goodness, using an e2e cone flower panto.
Binding: I settled on a moody teal/green with a small floral print on it for my binding, 'Handkerchief Helga' by Nathalie Lete for AMH's Conservatory.
Le Moyne Star quilt
Inspired by tradition but reworked to look a bit modern.
started Sept 2024, finished Feb 2025
Backing: I had one leftover block, so I used that as my starting point. Next, I added a pink & orange mishmash from my stash, strips & chunks set in an improv log cabin style until it all came up to size. Quilting: edge-to-edge 'coneflower' panto, it works so well with all those AM fabrics! The bulk caused by the piecing of the stars, added to the bulk of a pieced back, meant that this was going to be best handled by long arm quilting. Leeanne @quiltmekiwi outdid herself on this one.
Binding: Love how the AMtextiles 'checkers Saturday' sings!
Quilt measurements: 60" x 48".
Thanks for stopping by,
Linda
