This latest quilt finish was also inspired by Jolene @blue elephant stitches, loved her Vintage Diamonds quilt from her 'scrap quilt diary' (pattern link @theowlhutch). My focus was to try and capture some of Jolene's ‘vintage vibe’ and yet still be reflective of my stash here.
I'm enjoying this mix of scrappy sewing & a super punchy palette. It ended up all working well together - the lights & brights, the old & new, the cool & warm tones - a little bit of everything really. I've taken lots of close-ups so you too can check out my mix of fabrics!
I selected a dark teal RSS floral fabric for my backing and had it quilted by Leeanne @quiltmekiwi in an E2E 'feeling good' panto, using gold thread. While there are lots of pinks & teals & mustardy-golds, there are also quite a few black fabric accents in the quilt too, and I think this black & white stripe fabric for binding was the natural choice.
Quilt measurements 66" x 52".
Adding the final stitches to my vintage diamonds quilt today ...
*I'm linking up today's post with my three favourite linky parties, see R) side bar.
Until next time, Linda

Another beautiful quilt and I especially love that binding
I am surprised how well this color combination worked out. It's a beauty. Stripe binding is perfect for it.
That is such a pretty quilt. Congrats on the finish!
Very pretty, Linda! You're brave to piece diamonds. Though I've made a diamond quilt myself, I know how much effort it takes to get them joined just right. Well done, you! And I love the black and white striped binding. It's often the perfect finish to a somewhat scrappy design. I will be using a black and white strip to bind my next finish. Coming soon.
This is fabulous! Congrats
I love the gold and the dark blue you put in it - makes it striking
Linda, every time you post a finished quilt, I need to enlarge the photo on my big computer screen so I can study and appreciate the way you use color and value in your quilts. I used to think you just had a fantastic fabric stash (which you definitely do!), but then I realized that these are fabrics I see other quilters using in their quilts that do not have anywhere near the visual impact that yours do. I agree with Karen that the rows of deep blue and gold are heavy lifters here, so unexpected with the pale pinks. That, and the black and white striped binding. I am in love with this quilt.
So pretty... love the diamonds and the colours that bordered the quilt so nicely.
