She took one look at all the blocks laid out on the spare bed & she just so so wanted to play !!! Luckily, we were off out to "the cafe" !!!
So today while it rained, I had a final audit/play with the placement of my hour glass blocks!!
...I shifted things around a wee bit to ensure the top & the bottom rows were sort of mirror images of each other, something I have found in the past helps keep a bit of balance happening in a scrappy sort of quilt!
...and I replaced some of the teal triangles with a more deeper blue fabric to give more variety.
...and then I spent a couple of hours sewing, getting the blocks all together!! (b4 little Olive returns!!!)
These large blocks went together v. easily, a little bit of pinning to interlock everything nicely, & all intersections looking ok for once!!!
Linking up with WIP Wednesday over @ http://www.freshlypieced.com/ later on today.

It's interesting that an almost-mirror image helps balance a scrappy quilt. Something I did not know!
just something I made up..but seems to work!!! L
Really lovely Linda - and so effortless ( not like my hours of angst!)
This is looking lovely, is it going to have a border or are you just going to bind it?
thank you! where are you up to with your one? L
I thought I'd just bind it. I think... because the actual triangles are quite large, any border would need to be wideish and that would then detract from the quilt ! L
That is a quilt that is right up my alley!
Beautiful job! I love the bright colors!
all of those prints are gorgeous! i love how simple the hourglass block is but it can have so many different effects.
BEE YOOOO TI FUL!
