sew stitch snap SHARE

Welcome back!
Thank you all for linking up last time, it was great to see such a variety of projects
And thanks for your patience, we had a few teething problems
- hopefully all sorted now.

Here's a little peek at what I've been busy doing this week
it's a bit like painting sewing by numbers . . .

see here and here for earlier details & inspiration source

A lot of fabric freedom and fun and it was quick to make,
which is just what you need sometimes.

I did some straight line machine quilting all over the quilt, nothing fancy
just enough to secure the layers without distracting from the scrappy feel of the quilt.
I'm adding a little bit of big stitch quilting embellishment too
- more about that in another post.

Time now for 'Sew, Stitch, Snap, SHARE'
My pick from last time was this Gwennie-inspired Liberated Medallion quilt
I love the bright colours and those little scattered scrappy stars everywhere.

So what have you been working on over the past few days. Whatever you're sewing or stitching, you can link it up here. Just follow these simple guidelines:

1. Link up from any post from the past week that features something you have been sewing or stitching. You can write as much or as little about your project as you like, or simply let your photos do the talking.
2. Somewhere in your post, please link back to this post.
3. Please comment on a couple of the other Sew, Stitch, Snap, SHARE links - its fun to receive comments from new people, and we are trying to encourage people to read blogs and keep blogging too.
Thanks for joining us again, we can't wait to see what you have all been creating,
    Julie & Linda

Loving all the little embellishing stitches you are doing on this. I'm a little stumped on my next medallion border at present, may have to pull out the Liberty Bloomsbury and work on some hand quilting while ideas cogitate.

Lovely progress. The addition of hand quilting is very appealing.

What thread are you big stitch quilting with and how do you bury your threads? Just lovely!

Thanks Maureen, I’m enjoying having some hand stitching on the go.
And I’m having a bit of fun thinking of all the different ways I can embellish those low volume squares!
    Have a good weekend, Linda

Loving your "paint" by numbers approach. I forgot it was link time!

I hope to start linking in soon -- taking a bit of a break rught now. Like your reasoning for the linky!

Thank you... both Julie (Lou) and I both love reading & writing blogs.
She & I finally met last December at our annual quilt show. She lives on the other side of Auckland to me, so we’ve had lots of emails & texts back & forth while setting the linky up.
We love the idea that anyone can just post about where they are at.... maybe share their inspiration, fabric pulls, thought processes, WiP’s, even if there's not that much progress!
    Cheers, Linda

Love this scrappy quilt. Using the orphan blocks along with all the scraps worked so well. Congrats on clearing a bit from your scrap basket and on a lovely almost finish.
