plan B

Aunty needs a bit of a hand next week, so I'm moving over to hers for a while
- she is 90 after all!

I'll need some sewing though.
And admittedly, I am knee deep with lots of WiPs, so I don't really want to start anything new
but that's ok, I do have a plan B
I dug out these trial blocks I started a while back
... a spot of slow handstitching
... perfect!

... and I've been slowly adding to this dreamy scrappy selection for plan B over the weekend

I don't have a pattern as such, just combining templates & inspiration from a variety of sources
More about that next time
... off now to pack my bag!

Linking up with Cynthia for 'oh scrap' over here
and with 'slow sunday stitching' here for the first time in a while!

  1. Dreamy indeed! This is going to be lovely. Enjoy your visit with your Aunt.

  2. Oh, look at all those pretties! I'll be very happy to see what you're up to!
    Safe trip!

  3. I'm looking forward to your Plan B, whenever you decide to show us. I hope you and your aunt enjoy your time together. Hand stitching is just the ticket for a time like this.
    --Nancy. (ndmessier @,

  4. I don't know how you can wait, this is a very tempting selection! What is that large floral on the bottom? It looks Kaffe-ish, but I don't recognize it exactly. It's gorgeous!

    1. Thanks Monica.
Yes, it’s an old Kaffe, well spotted!

  5. That is quite a stack of florals, I'm curious to see what you will make of them. I love hand stitching and would love an excuse to visit your aunt. Have a lovely time.

  6. Those florals look fun and sweet, especially with a few dots thrown in! Hope they will make some relaxing stitching for you!

  7. Oh what cute little stars and your collection of fabrics is heavenly! Can't wait to see what plan B will be

  8. Your fabric collection is beautiful!

  9. Yum! I want to play in your fabric stash! Wonderful fabric pull.

  10. That is a gorgeous fabric pull- I can't wait to see what you get up to once you start cutting it up!

    1. Thanks Kaja!
I'm trying to keep a vintage-y soft look with this latest WiP as so many of my quilts are so bright! I’m loving the way this mix of fabrics works so far - no agonising over matching here!
And my plan... well, I thought I’d do combination of star & tile blocks. Both the blocks are from different patterns, hopefully with my calculations it all fits together nicely!
      Thanx for stopping by!

  11. Oooh that's one scrummy looking pile of 'scrap'! I look forward to seeing what you get up to with it. Have fun with your aunty!

  12. What a delicious pile of fabric you have there. Happy stitching.

  13. As everyone else has written, what delicious colors! I love the big daisy print and the red you used as a border in the first photo. Can't wait to see more. Have fun with your aunt.
