Here's my finished quilt top, *"second star to the right". And after years of stops & starts, this quilt top has ended up a delight to finish. The border treatment is very much inspired by some things I've seen happening over these last few years in the Australian quilting world.
I love this latest finish, it's pretty with a touch of vintage. I'll leave it hanging up for a few days & enjoy it some more, and then it'll be added to the ever growing 'to be quilted' stack! Linking up with Kelly here for 'needle and thread Thursday'. Also linking up with Wendy over here for this weekends 'peacock party'.

This is such a triumph Linda! I love this! I'm curious about your comment about what is happening in the quilting world in Australia? Is there are particular quilter or quilt you are referring to? Anyone, this is gorgeous and I love the quote you have named it after!
This is lovely. I both love and envy your colour play.
Such a delightful quilt. Well done for finishing it, Linda. Happy first Day of Spring!
I like your inspiration. The grey has worked well through the stars and the border is a delight. A lovely finish.
Such a happy quilt!
So pretty, Linda! I love the black and white dots and the red and white stripes combined in this quilt with other fun prints. I always enjoy seeing how you've put things together to make such a beautiful design!
This is beautiful, Linda;))) That polka dot fabric works so well with every one of the stars...hugs, Julierose
I LOVE this! The polka dots with those two borders are just the BEST setting! Way to make those stars shine!
Oh, yes. That mix of black and white polka dots with the red stripes is yummy. I like the Australian quilts, too. So "straight on till morning." Can't wait to see this finished.
Oh it's such a beautiful cheerful quilt top - love it. Perfect borders.
Such a colorful, happy quilt! I love the name: second star to the right....dreamy! :)
Oh, I love the polka dot background and I love the border even more!!! Great job!
I love it, especially the polka dot background. Congratulations on the finish!
What a delightful quilt top! I hope you will quilt it soon.
Lovely quilt. The polka dots are perfect!
This is so beautiful, Linda! Lovely balance of stripes, dots and florals and your piecing is just immaculate. I can't wait to see this one quilted, so I hope it doesn't stay in the to-be-quilted pile for too long!
Sweet! I love a six-pointed star. What a fun quilt!
It's a gorgeous finish and congratulations! I love the stripe border and those polka dots...very effective!
Beautiful quilt. Love everything about it. I don't know what is happening in Australia's quilting world. America is so horribly messed up right now - I forgot all about the rest of the world.
Just beautiful!
So good! And perfect name. I think Peter Pan is the first chapter book I remember reading...
It’s gorgeous. I love those borders! I’m surprised by how fantastic they turned out, to be honest. The red stripe is really effective and the outside border echoes the place and white spots incredibly well. Love it, love everything about it!
Wonderful stars, and the polka-dot fabric sure adds movement to the quilt! It looks like you are a master at sewing y-seams.
I love, love, love the block in your header. It's fabulous.
I'm so glad you finished this one - it looks beautiful. I think you must have an amazing stash of yardage for blenders and backgrounds, to be able to audition different fabrics. What's up next?
Great quilt - the black just makes it!
Thank you Mary! I did wonder for a while there, if anything was ever going to gel, but it all worked out in the end. I’ve been wanting to combine those two border fabrics together somewhere, anywhere, for ages now! (I'm replying here as I had trouble emailing you back)
