- party in the quilt back!
Le Moyne Star quilt
Inspired by tradition but reworked to look a bit modern.
A few quilt details:
Fabrics: It was fun making these fussy cut blocks. I decided the Anna Maria peach/pink 'Cathedral' print would be my unifying element, and I used it for the sashing & borders. The peach was a little nod to the vintage inspiration quilt, it really makes for a sweet background.
I also repeated a couple of other fabrics in different colourways, to help with a calmer & more cohesive look.
Backing: I had one leftover block, so I used that as my starting point. Next, I added a pink & orange mishmash from my stash, strips & chunks set in an improv log cabin style until it all came up to size.
Quilting: edge-to-edge 'coneflower' panto, it works so well with all those AM fabrics! The bulk caused by the piecing of the stars, added to the bulk of a pieced back, meant that this was going to be best handled by long arm quilting. Leeanne outdid herself on this one. Binding: Love how this AMtextiles 'checkers Saturday' sings!
Quilt measurements: 60" x 48".

Your garden is the perfect setting for that beautiful quilt.
Super!
It’s so pretty! Congrats on a lovely finish!
The quilting design was perfect for AH fabrics. Pretty quilt, front and back and nice binding choice.
looks great - pretty colors
Lovely lovely quilt. It is snowing outside right now so this fresh bright quilt is a delight to see.
That is stunning and so inspirational
Oh my goodness, I love everything about this quilt. Especially your fussy cuts . . . and your amazing way of putting colors together. Perfection!!!
This is a pretty quilt, and so very "you." Those soft colors speak volumes about who made it. :-) Agree that the binding looks good on the front and back, and the quilting is great. Did you know that AMH is no longer AMH? She's Anna Maria Textiles now. "Horner" is her ex-husband's last name, and she's remarried. No doubt you already you know that. https://www.instagram.com/annamariatextiles/
She'll be at QuiltCon next week, and I plan to visit her booth.

Beautiful selection of Anna Maria fabrics, love the way you've fussy cut here and there.
