mixing things up: a barijqal update

My barijquiltalong quilt has come back from the quilters.
Sandy from 'quilt me creations' did a lovely gentle flowery pattern all over my quilt
(see here for her details)

I'm mixing things up a bit, adding a little 'boho' flair to this quilt.
There's lots of extra embroidery touches already . . .

and I'm now adding some big stitch handquilting,
a good way to slow down & be present . . .

. . . while I wait for the binding fabric to arrive.

    1. Thanks so much Rose. There’s lots of ways to personalise this quilt, not only with fabric choices and adding all those little extra embroideries, but also with some hand quilting too. I’m plotting my ’sit down & stitch’ time for over the weekend now.

  7. Your quilt is looking great. I like the way you are prepared to add lots more even after the quilting is done. It adds so much interest to the project.

  9. Hi Linda,
What a beautiful quilt! I love those quilted flowers - they look so cool, but how you're embellishing it is even cooler! I think is just a fabulous way to make it unique plus enjoy some handwork - win/win. ~smile~ Roseanne
