{"triangle tiles" inspiration vintage quilt}
I made up a few trial blocks, then narrowed things down just a little with my colour palette. And like the inspiration quilt, I still want it to be a confetti of scrappy colour, with two prints per block, and a few rogue blocks thrown in to add interest. There's heaps & heaps of HSTs, hopefully it'll make a dent in my blue stash.
Yep, I'm thinking I'll keep on making more of these.
Great to have something simple to piece in those {precious} weekend sewing moments.

Pretty fabric combinations. A lot of HSTs to sew, but you will do it.
Oh, you're making me want to start a new quilt... I've long thought that I needed to make an HST quilt similar to this but with blocks that are made of 4 HSTs. I think I'd better keep my head down and finish up a few things first, but it is SO tempting. Beautiful.
I always make my hst's a little larger than needed so I can square up - I just can not get them square otherwise unless I do them on paper which I do not like to do

And I love the wee challenge to trying to get my stash to work together. I’ve got a colour palette in mind, but combining the pairs is taking some time as it’s a big jumble of old & new fabrics!
I did the same thing after I saw Julie's post. I love vintage quilts and when I saw they were offering patterns of vintage and new I was sold! I haven't started mine yet! I love what you've done with yours.
Love it but all those triangles would do my head in.

P.s. Re HSTs. I make mine larger and trim to size (unless they are die cut).

I’ve always loved the look of vintage quilts. We don’t see that many (in real life) over here in NZ though, I think that’s why I’m so drawn to them.
These blocks are so easy to piece, really & truly!
What’s taking the time is the wee challenge of trying to get my stash to work together. I’ve got a pink/blue colour palette in mind, but making up the combinations is tricky with my jumble of old & new fabrics!
I think you'll be a half square triangle expert by the time you are finished! I like to use triangle templates or rulers and cut them at the finished measurement... but apparently I'm weird like that :o)

Love! It! Looks very retro, in a fresh, fun way! And yes, I usually oversize my HST and then trim them down using the Bloc Loc ruler.
I like the choice of design and the great fabric you have auditioned.
A great block for using up some stash. You've gotten a good start on it. I make my HSTs a bit larger so they can be trimmed up. I'm not fond of doing all that trimming, but it's the only way to get them the right size.
I can’t sew a straight line to save my life so I ALWAYS cut everything I can larger and trim it down......
Gorgeous! I, too have a bit of a love/hate relationship with HSTs, but I do square them two at a time which cuts that in half!
