using up the stash!

I have, belatedly, joined in with the Triangle QAL and needed to get busy to catch up.
I wanted a random, scrappy look, and I did try to make a point of including more solids than usual from my stash this time around!  As you can see thou', a few prints still found their way into the cutting up pile, along with some tone-on-tones!  But nothing's right or wrong is it?  It was fun sorting thru' my bits & pieces for the more "selective" scraps, and I kinda like the overall effect now it's all together.

 And let's face it, if I don't use up the stash....it'll date!
Linking up with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced.

I enthusiastically started the QAL, collected and prepared my fabrics but sadly that is far as I have got...not one single cut made! Love your 'controlled' scrappy version...it is so bright and happy.

How big hsve you cut your triangles? I am keen to see the fabric in my planned one so am keen to do them quite big, maybe 10". Do you think that would work?

I love scrappy quilts!! They are more cuddly then any other quilt. Really! haha Glad to see more triangles from the quilt a long. It's like a link around the world of strangers.

Hi Karyn, I think that work well. Mine are (finished size) 6 1/2" from apex down to half way along base, I didn't go too big because they were supposed to be mainly solids (!!). But the other triangle quilt I made was actually alot bigger for that same reason - to show off the fabrics! L

I agree, a QAL is also a lovely way to see what others are getting up too! If you are anything like me, I scroll back thru' earlier blogs, I follow up on some of their links, & before I know it.. 2 hrs later...!! L
