It has been a long time
I initally machine quilted all over the quilt,
a combination of straight line in-the-ditch and 1/4" outline, nothing fancy
just enough to secure the layers without distracting from the scrappy feel of the quilt.
And then I spent a bit of time adding in some big stitch hand quilting embellishments
including adding these french knots to my broderie perse flower centre . . .
My finished quilt measures 150cms x 130cms.
Fabrics used include a selection of AMH fabrics, mainly the softer pastel ones,
a little Amy B., a couple of oriental fabrics, along with a selection of low volume fabrics
and a Martha Negley Seasons Collection Winter Fabric in Cream for the border.
See here where I wrote about my inspiration and making the broderie perse centre
and there's more progress pics here, here and here.

What a gorgeous quilt! You must be thrilled with it.
Colourful and eclectic! Fabulous!
I love looking at all the details, it’s a gorgeous quilt!
Another lovely quilt finish, Linda. As always, super colours and fabrics and presicion sewing. Love the stitching embellishment, especially the French knots.
Gorgeous finish Linda. And thanks for sharing the picture of the original pattern - I love to see how you make things your own!
Scrappy perfection and a really beautiful finish! Love the hand-quilting details. :)
Beautiful, that is one difficult pattern. I love your hand stitching, the perfect finishing touch. Congratulations.
very pretty quilt, I hadn't seen this one before
I love the colors in this one. I definitely need to add some aqua to my stash. I might need to do a bit of shopping this weekend!
Great colors and fabric choices on this! good job, it is amazing!
I have loved this quilt and colour palette ever since I saw your very first photos of it. Well done on finishing it, love all the little extra embellishments too. Hope you're keeping it.
Just beautiful-so much to like about this quilt!
Thank you Raewyn! Yes, I’m very happy with it.
The pattern was great, easy to follow, and it was fun relearning about how to paper piece again. (It’s been years since the 1st time I tried pp)
Have a nice weekend, Linda
Oh it's a real beauty Linda!! So restful just sitting looking at it up on the screen, it must be a delight to hand quilt and embellish.
Beautiful! I admire your skill with large-scale prints, and love all the extra details.
I loved seeing this quilt ever since you started it! Gorgeous finish!
This quilt is beautiful!! I love the addition of big stitch quilting! Love it!
Linda, it's scrumptious! So cool and fresh. Congratulations on another gorgeous finish!
This is so soft and lovely! And I love the addition of the big stitch. I had been thinking of French knots in the center of the flower on the top I just made, but wasn't sure if that should be embroidery before quilting or part of the big stitch. Looks like it works fine as part of the quilting. So thanks!
Thanks so much Janine! I enjoyed having a go at that broderie perse for my centre, a new-to-me technique!
And adding the big stitch quilting adds more texture & interest. I guess anything goes really, I’ve certainly enjoyed adding those extra little bits of embellishment.
Thanx for stopping by, Linda
After seeing your finish, I went straight to Chris J's site and ordered the pattern . Since paper oiecing and patterns in general are not my favored fare, you can tell I really really like your version!
Congrats on a beautiful finish!
What a beautiful finish, Linda! Your hand quilting is lovely and a great addition to the machine quilting. The fabrics are so fresh. Congrats!
Beautiful soft colours...clearly something I struggle with ;-)
A lovely soft and cuddly quilt Linda. I love any design by Chris Jurd.
This is so beautiful, too,
