Have you noticed,
there's a bit of renewed interest in hand quilting lately?
I too spent a pleasant Sunday evening quietly hand quilting my 'emperor's wheel' quilt
I had thought I was further along than I actually was {sigh} never mind
- refocused now on getting this finished over winter

Hi Linda. Your quilt looks wonderful! There's so much going on in it. And the hand quilting will finish it off just beautifully. I can't wait to see more!
wonderful quilt!! nice stitching
Linda, I love that quilt, and your quilting! I had fun clicking over to the tutorials you linked about hand quilting and enjoyed learning from them. I recently hand quilted my log cabin quiilt, and enjoyed it so much! I will definitely do it again!
Your quilt is stunning and the big stitch quilting is a terrific complement to it! Enjoy your slow stitching time! :)
I am in love! Look at all those lovely florals. I wish my eyes weren't so tired in the evening. I would love to get my hand quilting out again. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
You know that I totally love this quilt and am thrilled that you are now quilting it - hopefully that means lots more photos of it so that I can continue to live vicariously!
I love the thread that you are using for your quilting. I just started a new hand-quilting project. I like it for small quilts, but I prefer to have larger quilts completed by a long-arm quilter. Your quilt is very pretty.
Wow, what fun fabrics and colors.
A very interesting design and well done.
What a beautiful quilt, Linda. I especially like your color placement.
It's gorgeous!! I just love the big stitch quilting too.
Wow, gorgeous colors, prints, and layout. Big stitch quilting is my preference since I never learned how to rock the needle for tiny stitches!
I love looking at the fabric combinations in your quilts, Linda. You have a great eye for which fabrics look good next to each other. Also a fan of big stitch quilting, so the close ups of your work tick all my boxes!
Thank you so much Linda!
I have in the past had any larger quilts machine quilted for me, but, now I’m retired it gets a bit too expensive.
Hence, the making of smaller quilts lately, ones that I can quilt myself, either on my machine or by hand.
It’s taken me a little while to get back into the ‘flow’ of the big stitch hand quilting I must admit! And my stitches are not always consistent, but I’m really enjoying it now.
Thanx for stopping by, Linda
I love seeing this quilt, the colours, the pattern, it warms my heart. A very imformative post from Wendy . Roll on Wednesday!!
Your quilt is beautiful! There’s something so rewarding in quilting your quilt by hand! Thanks for the link to Wendy’s post!
Beautiful quilt. I like the look of the hand quilting, that thread you are using is scrummy.
Oh, I'm so glad you're working on this again - I just love it! The hand quilting is the perfect touch!
When I was growing up, hand quilting was the norm and machine quilting was a rarity. Now it's the other way round, and I wasn't paying attention when that transition took place. I still prefer handquilting, but I'm trying to do more machine work, just to speed things up a bit.
Ah! I can feel your satisfaction and contentment! I can't wait to start hand quilting again.......
Beautifully rich fabrics and colors. Hope you got to spend lots of slow stitching time admiring each piece.
Your hand quilting is adding such a wonderful element to this quilt. Love, love love it!
Oh Linda this is beautiful you have some luscious fabrics in here! I'm so pleased that you're hand quilting and the thread is awesome, perfect for this quilt.
Such pretty restful fabrics in your quilt.
