Thanks so much for all your helpful comments about my 'florabunda' quilt. The deciding factor in my setting & border decisions was design - no, no, it was which fabric do I have enough of left!
Loving these dense clusters of starflower blocks, using simple shapes & random colour surprises. Such a fun way to use up some of my large scale florals.
It's all coming together nicely now . . .
- the Kaffe Marquee stripe was an afterthought late this afternoon!
I found heaps of ways to create variety by playing with the value placements in each block.

I love reading your quilt to see if I have any of the fabrics you used and I only have the C+S you used in one of the background. What a lovely way to use the florals and the stripe for just too perfect for your quilt. This quilt makes me smile.

I seem to be changing my plans often with this... the crazy mix of fabrics does tend to make each next decision tricky!
The blocks are 10” and I’ve set them 4 x 5, so I do want a couple of borders at least.

What a lovely quilt. It makes your large florals shine. At first I thought the stripe was binding and truthfully thought it was too bright. Now I realize it's the first border. It will make a great focus. As a narrow inner border it is perfect. Funny how slight alteration of location changes everything. (Of course, you didn't change a thing but my perception did.)
Just went and looked at the instagram shot of the quilt with the second border - this beauty just gets better and better! I love the stripy border, and those triangles just put it right out of the park!
