sew stitch snap SHARE #8

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Here in NZ we are about 1/3 way through winter. It's been wet, and windy, and cold, we've had our fire going 24/7 these past few days. Finally saw the sun briefly over the weekend, but it's gone again now! I popped up to the village this morning though, and brought back a little bit of happy colour with me . . .

I'm slowly adding to my scrappy mish-mash collection of 'sawtooth star' blocks
Loving these simple shapes & lots of random colour surprises . . .

and a couple more . . .

That's all from me at the moment,
time now for another fortnightly 'Sew, Stitch, Snap, SHARE' linkup

There were lots of inspiring projects shared last time around.
These 'smitten' blocks made by Rose from somethingrosemade caught my eye
- there's some cute fussy cutting if you look closely.
I think Rose has great taste and mixes her colours well, scroll through her posts
to see heaps more

And what are you working on right now?
Whatever you're sewing or stitching, you can link it up here.

Just follow these simple guidelines:

1. Link up from any post from the past week that features something you have been sewing or stitching. You can write as much or as little about your project as you like, or simply let your photos do the talking.
2. Somewhere in your post, please link back to this post.
3. Please comment on a couple of the other Sew, Stitch, Snap, SHARE links - its fun to receive comments from new people, and we are trying to encourage people to read blogs and to keep blogging. Hope you find some new inspiration too!

Thanks for joining us again, we can't wait to see what you have all been creating
Julie & Linda

  1. Love your spring bouquet, I have some poppies flowering which I should bring in before they get ruined by the next of of bad weather. Definitely lots of colour in your star blocks. Some lovely florals there too.

  2. This reminds me a little of the blended look that was so popular in the late 80's, early 90's--but so much bolder! It's a very carefree, happy look!

  3. You are making great progress on your blocks. You have the prettiest stash of floral fabrics!

  4. The spring bouquet is a ray of sunshine! The weather on the weekend was magic! Your saw tooth star blocks are coming along nicely. Roses' fussy cut blocks look interesting, off to have a look!

  5. Your stars are beautiful.
Flowers do brighten the day up and bring in some sunshine!

  6. The more of these stars you do, the better it all looks.

  7. It's so lovely to have the fire going, isn't it? Your flowers are beautiful and your stars look amazing!

  8. Love your fabric mash ups and seeing all the different fabrics you have in your stash. It just makes me want to stock up on some AMH prints which I never seem to buy until I see it on someone's quilt. Thanks for the inspiration.

  9. Love your Sawtooth star blocks, beautiful fabrics!

  10. Your stars are looking great Linda...and those blocks of Rose's are lovely too :-) Hope you are wrapped up for the next few days!

  11. Flowers always brighten a dreary day, those are gorgeous. Very fun and colorful star blocks. Happy Stitching this weekend.

  12. Gosh, I'm way behind with reading my posts! Your sawtooth stars are just beauties Linda, I love the mix of fabrics you have there. I missed linking up - next timeI shall be organised.

  13. wonderful blocks with my favorite fabrics
